SO YOU THINK YOU
KNOW BATH—THE RE-MATCH!
So,
last year you--and many other Bath residents—thought you
knew Bath! And discovered, to your shock and awe, that
perhaps you did not know quite all there was to know. Start
studying now for the grudge match: So You Think You Know
Bath will be pitting the great minds of Bath wisdom against
one another once
more on Saturday, April 5th, at
the Winter Street Center from 6 to 9 P.M. Last
year’s champions, the Patten Free Library team, will
be defending their hard-won crown against other teams eager
to avenge last year’s defeat and new teams impatient
to test their mettle. Buy your tickets early to be
sure you can be there to cheer on your favorite institution’s
team, or to plume yourself on knowing the answers that they
miss.
The
evening will start at 6 with a time to socialize with friends
after this long winter and to enjoy great food from the local
restaurants, new and old. At
6:30, the first round of three teams will compete to answer
20 questions, then social breaks will alternate with two
more rounds, before culminating with the Championship Round
where the three previous winners face off to determine who really knows Bath. Be
prepared to learn a lot and laugh a lot and have a great
evening to benefit Main Street Bath in its mission to preserve
and promote downtown Bath. There will be a silent auction
of wonderful items, a sale of raffle tickets for great prizes,
sale of the new Bloomin’ Bath buttons to help with
the increased cost of the downtown summer flowers, and sale
of the new note cards featuring the Jim Stilphen paintings
in the Archway to help add more artwork to that outdoor gallery.
Tickets
are $30 and may be purchased from members of the Main Street
Bath board, or at the Main Street office at 4 Centre Street. They
are also available at Now You’re Cooking, Magnolia,
and Brick Store Antiques on Front Street. Come downtown
to pick up your tickets and walk around and look carefully—you
never know what little fact may stump the stars!
